Frequently Asked Questions
-
I blend documentary-style storytelling with gently guided portraits. I won't make you hold stiff, awkward poses for hours or stare endlessly at the camera. Instead, I give you relaxed prompts and setup interactions that let you just be yourselves, allowing candid laughter, quiet glances, and real connection to happen naturally. My editing style is true-to-color, clean, and warm, focusing on real and honest emotion rather than heavy, trendy filters that will age quickly.

For weddings, most couples book 6 to 12 months in advance to secure their date, especially during peak New England summer and fall foliage months.
For family, maternity, and standard portrait sessions, I require a minimum of 15 days' notice, though booking 1 to 2 months ahead gives us the most flexibility with dates and lighting. If you’re looking for something shorter notice, feel free to drop me a message, if I have a last-minute opening, I’m always happy to fit you in!

For Weddings & Elopements: A 25% non-refundable retainer is due at the time of booking.
For All Other Sessions: A non-refundable retainer of $200 is required to hold your date
When is my remaining balance due? Your payments will follow the schedule outlined in your Photography Agreement. For weddings and elopements, the full remaining balance is due no later than 30 days prior to your event.

For Weddings:
Client Cancellation: If the Client cancels, the Retainer is forfeited. If cancelled within 30 days of the event, the full balance remains due.
Rescheduling: If the Client reschedules, a rescheduling fee may apply, and the new date is subject to Photographer’s availability.
Photographer Cancellation: If the Photographer cannot perform due to illness or emergency, they will attempt to find a replacement of equal caliber. If no replacement is found, all fees (excluding retainer) will be refunded, which shall be the Client's sole remedy.
For Portrait and Family sessions:
What if I need to cancel or reschedule my session? If you cancel your session, the retainer is forfeited as a cancellation fee. However, if you contact Clover and Pine Photo via phone or email at least 72 hours prior to your session date, your retainer can be credited toward a future session at a mutually agreeable date and time.
What happens if the session is cancelled? If the Contract is cancelled, all monies paid will be refunded except for the non-refundable retainer and any monies for services already rendered.
What if there is bad weather? For most sessions rescheduling for weather is not a problem. For wedding, we will persevere and make it work!

For portrait, maternity, and family sessions, we’ll keep an eye on the forecast together as our date gets closer. If it’s pouring rain, freezing, or just miserable out, we can easily reschedule for a backup date or pivot to an in-home session. For weddings and elopements, rain or shine, we make it happen! I always pack clear umbrellas, and we’ll work with your venue or location to find great covered or indoor spots. Honestly, moody or rainy skies often lead to some of the most romantic, atmospheric photos anyway.
-
Don't stress at all, I have endless patience and zero expectation for kids to sit still and smile on command for an hour. My sessions are designed to be low-pressure. We’ll play games, explore, take snack breaks whenever needed, and let them be themselves. Some of the best photos come from those unscripted, wild-and-free moments anyway.

100% yes! Furry family members are always welcome at outdoor locations that allow pets. I just recommend bringing treats, a favorite toy, and either a friend or a handler to hold the leash for a few minutes if you want some photos with just the human family members, too.
-
Yes! I work with a network of talented, trusted local photographers across New England. Adding a second photographer is $100/hour and is a great option if you're having a larger guest count, want coverage for both parties getting ready at the same time, or want multiple angles captured during your ceremony and reception.

I have a digital super 8 camera, but I otherwise do not offer videography at this time.

Yes! While my signature editing style is a huge part of the Clover and Pine Photo experience, I understand that some couples want the complete archive of their day. They’re your memories, afterall.
Full wedding and elopement collections automatically include the RAW, unedited files. For all other sessions (Family portraits, etc.), RAW files are available as an add-on starting at $250.
Please note: RAW files are massive, professional-grade files that require specific software (like Adobe Lightroom or Photoshop) to view and edit. They are provided 'as-is' and do not reflect the final artistic look of my delivered galleries.
Even with the purchase of RAW files, Clover and Pine Photo retains the legal copyright to the images. Your purchase grants you a Personal Use License, allowing you to keep, and print these files forever. However, you may not sell these images, use them for commercial gain, or claim them as your own professional work.
To maintain the artistic integrity and consistent style of the Clover & Pine brand, I kindly ask that you do not edit or apply filters to the RAW images for public sharing. My professional editing is a core part of the service you are hiring me for.
If you choose to share a RAW image version on social media, please refrain from tagging my professional business page. I want to ensure that any work associated with my brand reflects the specific quality and 'look' you see in my portfolio.

This means you have full 'Printing Rights' to print your photos at any lab of your choice and 'Digital Rights' to share them on social media for personal use. You may not sell the images, enter them into contests, or use them for commercial purposes without prior written consent.
